Overview

We are looking for a Cloud Architect - Systems to design, implement, and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure for enterprise-scale workloads. This role is part of the Microsoft Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE) and will focus on ensuring high availability, security, and cost optimization while driving cloud modernization and automation initiatives.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Azure compute, storage, automation, high availability, disaster recovery (DR), and migration solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement scalable, secure, high-performance, and cost-effective solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Create architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and solution design documents.
• Define and enforce best practices for cloud infrastructure, application hosting, and data management.
• Design hybrid cloud solutions that integrate on-premises systems with Azure services.
• Lead the migration of on-premises workloads to Azure, including rehosting, re-platforming, or re-architecting applications.
• Provide hands-on technical expertise during solution deployment and configuration.
• Design and implement enterprise-scale Azure infrastructure aligned with the Azure Well-Architected Framework.
• Select appropriate Azure services (Virtual Machines, AKS, Storage Accounts, Networking, App Services, etc.) based on business requirements.
• Assess existing on-premises or legacy systems for cloud migration to Azure.
• Develop migration strategies and plans for data and applications.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM Templates for scalable deployments.
• Automate cloud operations using Azure Automation, PowerShell, Python, and Logic Apps.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Automate predictive cost analytics and Reserved Instance (RI) optimization.
• Optimize compute, storage, and networking costs using FinOps best practices.
• Architect Active-Active and Active-Passive Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
• Implement Azure Site Recovery (ASR), backup solutions, and geo-redundant architectures.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure & Systems Architecture, with at least 2 years in Azure.
• Hands-on experience with cloud migration projects, cost optimization strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
• Proven experience in leading technical projects (Cloud Adoption, Landing Zone design and deployment).
• Expertise in Azure Virtual Machines, AKS, Storage Accounts, Networking, and App Services.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Strong knowledge of Azure Automation, PowerShell, Python, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics for monitoring and security analytics.
• Strong understanding of compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR, NIST, ISO 27001).
• Strong written and verbal English skills for effective communication and collaboration.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for cloud-based systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to mentor and guide teams on cloud best practices.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with multi-cloud architecture design (Azure, OCI).
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate.
• Experience with AI-driven cost optimization and predictive analytics for cloud spend.
