To lead and guide a team within the IT Operations (ITO) organization, ensuring the effective delivery and management of the organization’s infrastructure technology and systems administration services. The Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring high-performance, 24/7 support, and ensuring that resources are used efficiently. Additionally, this role involves mentoring team members, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with service delivery standards and SLAs, all while contributing to the overall success and stability of the organization's technical infrastructure.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of systems administrators and technical support staff.
- Foster a collaborative, productive, and positive team environment to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
- Provide regular coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members to support their professional growth and skill development.
- Ensure the team adheres to best practices and industry standards for systems administration and infrastructure management.
- Operational Management and Oversight:
- Supervise daily operations of the IT infrastructure, ensuring systems are functioning optimally and in line with business requirements.
- Coordinate the response to critical incidents and system failures, minimizing downtime and impact on business operations.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of systems and network monitoring to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact service delivery.
- Service Delivery and SLA Management:
- Ensure the timely and effective delivery of IT services in alignment with contracted Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Develop, implement, and track performance metrics to measure service delivery, identifying areas for improvement.
- Lead efforts to resolve service-related issues and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain service excellence.
- Resource Management and Optimization:
- Ensure efficient use of team resources, ensuring that tasks are appropriately assigned based on skill sets and priorities.
- Manage team workload to ensure all systems administration tasks and service requests are completed within established timelines.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure proper resource allocation across projects.
- Continuous Improvement and Process Development:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process, tool, and technology enhancements.
- Develop and implement standards, policies, and best practices to ensure effective infrastructure management and service delivery.
- Regularly assess and refine processes to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Operational Readiness and Incident Management:
- Ensure the infrastructure is fully operational and ready to support the organization’s business needs 24/7.
- Oversee the management and resolution of incidents, ensuring prompt response times and resolution according to established protocols.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact between the ITO team and other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Work closely with senior leadership and other IT teams to ensure alignment with the overall technology strategy and business objectives.
- Provide regular updates and reports on team performance, incident resolution, and ongoing projects.
- Required skills / qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent industry experience
- Cloud Infrastructure:
- Experience with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud infrastructure management, provisioning, and cost optimization.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and migrations.
- Operating Systems:
- Windows Server: Configuration, administration, and troubleshooting (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP).
- Linux/Unix: Experience with various distributions (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat) for server setup, management, and troubleshooting.
- Virtualization: Expertise in hypervisor technologies such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or KVM for managing virtual environments.
- Infrastructure Management:
- Understanding of server hardware and performance tuning, including RAID configurations, disk management, and hardware monitoring.
- Experience with enterprise server platforms (e.g., Dell PowerEdge, HP ProLiant, Cisco UCS).
- Networking and Security devices management:
- Knowledge of core networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPNs, SMTP, FTP, and NFS.
- Routing and Switching: Understanding of network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and basic troubleshooting.
- Firewall and Security Management: Experience with network security tools and concepts, including firewall configuration (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto), VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
- Monitoring and Performance Management:
- Familiarity with monitoring tools to monitor system performance, uptime, and alerts. And customize alerts based on performance metrics (CPU, memory, disk usage, etc.).
- Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Familiarity with enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup) for ensuring data protection and disaster recovery.
- Experience with both on-premises and cloud backup strategies.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery (DR) strategies, including system restoration and testing of recovery plans.
- Security Management:
- Knowledge of best practices for securing IT infrastructure, including patch management, vulnerability scanning, firewall configuration, and encryption.
- Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) technologies.
- Database Management:
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or NoSQL databases like MongoDB for performance tuning, backups, and restoration.
- Knowledge of database replication, clustering, and indexing to optimize performance and availability.
- Service Management and ITIL:
- Practical knowledge of ITIL processes for incident management, problem management, change management, and service request management.
- Familiarity with ticketing and service management systems like ServiceNow
- Containerization and Orchestration (optional but advantageous):
- Docker: Experience with containerization using Docker for isolating applications and services.
- Kubernetes: Knowledge of container orchestration and management using Kubernetes.
