Cluster Assistant Chief Engineer - InterContinental Hotel & Residences Abu Dhabi

We are seeking a Cluster Assistant Chief Engineer for InterContinental Hotel & Residences Abu Dhabi to join our dynamic team and contribute to maintaining the highest engineering and safety standards across our properties. As the Cluster Assistant Chief Engineer, you will assist in overseeing the engineering and maintenance operations within the cluster. You will ensure efficient maintenance, compliance with safety regulations, and optimal functionality of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to provide a seamless guest experience.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly do:

• Assist the Cluster Director of Engineer in managing all engineering and maintenance operations across the cluster properties.
• Ensure all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems operate efficiently and safely.
• Monitor preventive maintenance programs and energy conservation initiatives.
• Supervise and train engineering team members to maintain high performance levels.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance issues and guest concerns promptly.
• Manage inventory, budget, and procurement for engineering supplies and spare parts.
• Support sustainability and energy efficiency programs in alignment with corporate objectives.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans for technical failures.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance work.
• Oversee and ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities and compliance reports.
• Assist in preparing and managing the annual engineering budget to optimize cost efficiency.
• Identify and implement innovative solutions for improving operational efficiency and reducing costs.
  
  

What we need from you:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in a hotel or hospitality environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, fire safety, and building automation systems.
• Familiarity with local regulations and compliance standards in Abu Dhabi.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
