The InterContinental Hotels Group at Dubai Festival City consists of four hotels. These include the luxury and lifestyle brand InterContinental, the lavish long-stay InterContinental Residence Suites, the premium Crowne Plaza, and the essentials Holiday Inn & Suites. In addition to over 1,600 rooms, the cluster boasts a selection of 16 restaurants and bars, an impressive 3,800-square-metre Event Centre across two levels, the 5,000-square-metre Festival Arena by InterContinental, the luxurious Spa InterContinental, and state-of-the-art gym and swimming pool facilities. A little taste of your day-to-day
- As Cluster Director of Human Resources, you will lead HR initiatives including hiring, benefits, and employee relations to ensure compliance for team members across the cluster. Your role will focus on fostering a positive team culture and ensuring colleagues deliver an exceptional guest experience that embodies the IHG brand. Additionally, you will serve as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and leadership team, addressing all people-related matters.
- Design and implement initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive working environment for all colleagues.
- Support and manage the Colleague HeartBeat survey process, using the results to drive meaningful action.
- Educate and mentor managers on core HR practices to boost productivity, elevate leadership capabilities, and enhance team performance.
- Oversee the accurate and up-to-date maintenance of personnel files and records for all employees.
- Ensure recruitment practices align with UAE Labour Law, IHG standards, and the Code of Conduct.
- Drive nationalisation efforts by mentoring and integrating local talent, supporting their development, and ensuring alignment with nationalisation goals.
- Establish and maintain a succession plan to support long-term organisational growth, future readiness, and leadership continuity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with talent partners and IHG-affiliated stakeholders to support strategic workforce needs.
- Oversee the implementation and effective use of the Work Optimisation Tool (WOT) Planner to ensure accurate forecasting and scheduling for optimal workforce planning and efficient service delivery across the cluster.
- Collaborate closely with cluster and regional leadership to shape and deliver the cluster’s people strategy, ensuring alignment with both operational needs and long-term brand vision.
- Use workforce data, metrics, and analytics to inform decision-making and guide proactive talent and engagement strategies.
- Lead the development of employee engagement, recognition, and wellbeing programmes to enhance culture and colleague experience.
- Play an active role in hotel openings, transitions, or reorganisations, ensuring a smooth people experience and alignment with IHG standards.
- Support crisis management and business continuity plans with HR-related contingencies and communication strategies.
- As Cluster Director of Human Resources, empower colleagues to act with integrity by fostering a Speak Up culture—creating an environment where they feel supported to ask questions, raise concerns, and adhere to the Code of Conduct. Ensure all required training is completed and any suspected misconduct is promptly addressed.
- Bachelor’s degree, higher education qualification, or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading HR across multi-unit properties with 1,000+ employees, demonstrating strong capability in managing complexity and scale.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence outcomes within a matrixed environment.
- Strong business acumen and financial awareness.
- Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on operational HR support with strategic business partnership.
- In-depth knowledge of UAE Labour Law and all relevant legal requirements, including employee relations, disciplinary procedures, compliance, and regulatory reporting.
- A successful track record in driving nationalisation efforts, including the integration, development, and retention of local talent.
- Confident communicator with excellent presentation and project management skills—capable of leading HR projects and change initiatives across multiple properties.
- Middle East experience is highly desirable, within culturally diverse and fast-paced hospitality environments.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and the ability to manage sensitive information with full confidentiality.
- Passion for luxury service, culture-building, and the development of high-performing teams that bring the brand to life.
