As a Commis (Bakery), you will be responsible for preparing high quality bakery items to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Commis will also be required to assist with food cost controls. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

What will I be doing?
As a Commis (Bakery), you will be responsible for preparing high quality bakery items to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Commis will also be required to assist with food cost controls. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Basic dough preparation.
- To ensure high productivity and standards of breadmaking and baking are maintained at all times.
- Assist in preparation of pastry, cakes, tarts and breads.
- Assist in preparation of sweets required as per standard in all food & beverage outlets.
- Responsible to monitor and maintain the quality of food in outlets as well as fridges and freezes.
- Assist in requisitioning of food to kitchen.
- Prepare orders for the service team as required.
- Assist the Pastry Chef and the Pastry Team in the daily operations.
- Follow food safety program at all times.
- Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination.
- Prepare mis-en-place for all relevant menus.
- Assist in positive outcomes from guest queries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure that all food items are stored correctly.
- Contribute to controlling the food costs.
- Be environmentally aware.

- Previous experience in bakery within a hotel environment.
- Solid bakery knowledge.
- Basic pastry knowledge.
- Basic food hygiene certificate.
- Positive attitude.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work on own or in teams.
- Experience in the hotel industry.
- Previous experience working in the pastry department.
