Job Description:

We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer with a proven track record in conducting site inspections within the building commissioning of major construction projects to join our thriving business in Dubai. The role will require you to plan and conduct the commissioning inspection process, and assess whether test procedures and recorded results demonstrate compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice so that not only the engineering design intent is met but also that the functional and integrated performance of the facility and its engineering services are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior personnel in carrying out commissioning activities
  • Develop knowledge in chosen discipline and how different systems interact in buildings
  • Conduct site inspections in selected discipline
  • Assess whether test procedures and recorded results demonstrate compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice
  • Assist with reviewing project documentation for compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice
  • Report issues found to senior team members in a clear, accurate and concise manner
  • Liaise with contractors commissioning team in professional manner
  • Carry out site observations with respect to quality of installation
  • Monitor installation, submittals and use of engineering tools adhering to project and commissioning guidelines
  • Assisting with tracking completion of tasks and preparing lookahead documents
  • Keep daily diary of events and activities under your control, including systems inspected, documents reviewed, and any decision made by authorities on site

Qualifications

  • BSc in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of job-related experience in the field of building commissioning
  • Incorporated Engineer, desirable but not essential
  • CSA Grade 3 qualified, desirable but not essential
  • Commissioning certifications such as BCA, ACG or NEBB, is desirable but not essential
  • LEED GA, desirable but not essential
  • LEED AP (BD+C), desirable but not essential


Essential skills:

  • Strong positive communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in tasks
  • Able to observe and follow directions by senior personnel
  • Works well as part of a multi-discipline team
  • Demonstrate an ability to progress and develop knowledge
  • Able to read and understand technical documents
  • Able to review and verify technical data in hardcopy and electronic format
  • Skilled in use of Microsoft desktop publishing software
  • Able to independently carry out site inspections to a high standard
  • Able to determine whether test procedures and recorded test results demonstrate compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice
