Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure Safety, Quality & Environment requirements of the yard and Project are met.
  • Determine Yard obligations against Contract, contract documentation, applicable codes and standards and assure that same is communicated to stakeholders and implemented in project execution.
  • Define the project requirements and performance criteria and establish targets to project team and ensure that project meets those targets.
  • Responsible for identification, documentation, assessment and management of risks associated to project execution, including continuous monitoring and reporting in organized manner to senior management.
  • Ensure that change / variation orders for the project are identified, documented, submitted and tracked in organized manner.
  • To liaise with the procurement supply chain that all the materials / equipment required for the project execution are delivered in accordance with the project plan and budget.
  • Maintain effective communication between the client and the project team.
  • Identify and resolve the conflicts and resolve the bottle necks in the project.
  • Systematically track project productivity and schedule, report same and prepare contingency plans when required.
  • Supervise, coach/ mentor and motivate the project team members in order to enhance their capabilities and performance.
  • Identify lessons learned and propose improvement/mitigation actions for improvement.
  • Improvement and development of department process and procedures.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned by the section head

Skills & Qualification /Experiences

  • Mechanical, Civil or Naval Architecture background and having shipyard/ fabrication yard experience.
  • Good knowledge of up to date shipbuilding and offshore construction process.
  • Computer Proficient MS Office, AutoCAD, MS Project.
  • Ability to effectively apply project management techniques.
  • Proficient in application of analytical tools and techniques.
  • Critical thinking, trouble shooting, adaptive and self-motivating.
  • Bachelor/Engineering degree in Naval Architecture/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry
