Position Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION
STMC Al Ain is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Cardiac Rehabilitation Consultant to lead and manage the comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation program. The Consultant will oversee patient care following cardiovascular events and procedures, ensure evidence-based recovery plans are implemented, and lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering integrated physical, psychological, and lifestyle support to optimize long-term cardiovascular health outcomes.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate patients referred to cardiac rehabilitation and design individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
Supervise exercise therapy, risk factor management, nutritional counseling, and psychosocial support.
Monitor and adjust rehabilitation programs based on patient progress and response to therapy.
Lead multidisciplinary team meetings including physiotherapists, dietitians, psychologists, and nurses.
Provide education and counseling to patients and families on cardiovascular disease prevention and healthy lifestyle changes.
Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and primary care physicians to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation in compliance with DOH and STMC standards.
Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and research initiatives.
Mentor junior medical staff and participate in academic and training activities.
Ensure strict adherence to patient safety, infection control, and ethical medical practices.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements:
Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
Residency in Internal Medicine or Cardiology and Fellowship in Cardiac Rehabilitation or Preventive Cardiology.
Board Certification in Cardiology or Rehabilitation Medicine with specialization in Cardiac Rehab.
Valid DOH License or eligibility to obtain one in Abu Dhabi.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Consultant in Cardiac Rehabilitation.
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate comprehensive care plans.
Excellent communication, leadership, and patient counseling skills.
Proficient in electronic medical records and digital healthcare systems.
Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
