Consultant – Interventional Cardiology

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant in Interventional Cardiology to join our esteemed medical team. The ideal candidate will be a licensed consultant with the Department of Health (DOH) and have extensive experience in performing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions related to cardiovascular diseases. The consultant will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, performing complex interventional procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver optimal cardiac care.

Clinical Duties:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with cardiovascular conditions.
• Perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures, including coronary angioplasty, stent placement, and catheterization.
• Provide expert opinions, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations for patients with complex cardiovascular diseases.
• Monitor and assess the progress of patients following interventions and provide appropriate follow-up care.
• Review and interpret imaging results such as echocardiograms, CT scans, and MRIs to guide treatment plans.
• Provide emergency care for patients experiencing acute cardiovascular events such as heart attacks or arrhythmias.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

• Work closely with other cardiology consultants, specialists, and medical staff to ensure optimal treatment outcomes for patients.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions to establish patient treatment plans.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior doctors and medical staff within the cardiology department.

Patient Education and Communication:

• Clearly explain diagnoses, procedures, and treatment options to patients and their families, ensuring they are informed and confident in the care plan.
• Educate patients on preventive measures, lifestyle modifications, and long-term cardiovascular health management.

Research and Development:

• Contribute to ongoing clinical research in interventional cardiology, including trial participation, data collection, and publishing findings.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in interventional cardiology and integrate best practices into clinical care.

Administrative Duties:

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in compliance with hospital policies and medical regulations.
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality assurance activities, and continuous medical education.

Education:

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
• Specialization in Cardiology with a focus on Interventional Cardiology.
• Fellowship or equivalent training in Interventional Cardiology is preferred.

Licensing:

• Valid and current DOH license to practice medicine in [UAE or applicable region].
• Board certification or equivalent qualifications in cardiology is preferred.

Experience:
