A prestigious tertiary care hospital in Saudi Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join its advanced surgical and critical care team. The role involves delivering safe, high-quality anesthesia care to pediatric patients undergoing a wide range of surgical and diagnostic procedures while contributing to teaching, research, and clinical governance.

A prestigious tertiary care hospital in Saudi Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join its advanced surgical and critical care team. The role involves delivering safe, high-quality anesthesia care to pediatric patients undergoing a wide range of surgical and diagnostic procedures while contributing to teaching, research, and clinical governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive anesthesia care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents undergoing elective and emergency procedures
- Develop individualized anesthetic plans based on patient history, surgical needs, and perioperative risk
- Monitor and manage patients throughout the perioperative period, including post-anesthesia recovery
- Supervise and mentor junior anesthetists, residents, and fellows
- Participate in pediatric code blue and critical care response teams
- Contribute to departmental teaching, simulation training, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with SCFHS regulations and hospital policies
- Engage in clinical research and continuing medical education
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completed residency in Anesthesiology
- Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology from a recognized institution
- Board-certified (e.g., American Board, UK CCT, Canadian FRCP, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2–5 years of post-fellowship experience in pediatric anesthesia
- Eligible for Consultant classification by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
- Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage
- Strong communication and crisis management skills
- Experience in neonatal and pediatric intensive care settings
- Familiarity with advanced monitoring and anesthesia technologies
- Commitment to patient safety, family-centered care, and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Interest in academic teaching or pediatric anesthesia research
