We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist to lead and deliver specialized eye care services for children at a prestigious hospital in Saudi Arabia. The role involves clinical excellence, surgical expertise, and active participation in teaching and research within a multidisciplinary pediatric team.

We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist to lead and deliver specialized eye care services for children at a prestigious hospital in Saudi Arabia. The role involves clinical excellence, surgical expertise, and active participation in teaching and research within a multidisciplinary pediatric team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert diagnosis and treatment of pediatric eye conditions, including strabismus, amblyopia, congenital cataracts, and retinopathy of prematurity
- Perform pediatric ophthalmic surgeries and advanced diagnostic procedures
- Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, and fellows
- Collaborate with pediatricians, neurologists, and geneticists in complex case management
- Participate in academic activities, research, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and hospital policies
- Contribute to the development of pediatric ophthalmology services and community outreach programs
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completed residency in Ophthalmology
- Fellowship or subspecialty certification in Pediatric Ophthalmology
- Board-certified (e.g., American Board, UK CCT, Arab Board, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-fellowship experience in pediatric ophthalmology
- SCFHS Consultant classification eligibility is mandatory
- Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage
- Dataflow verification and professional references required
- Skilled in pediatric ocular surgery and managing rare congenital eye disorders
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with children and families
- Experience in teaching, clinical research, or public health ophthalmology
- Familiarity with EMR systems and digital imaging tools
