Contracts Administrator - 1

The Contracts Administrator is responsible for managing both pre- and post-contract commercial matters, including handling changes, claims, and disputes. The role ensures timely coordination and execution of daily contract administration tasks, including tendering, procurement, contract awards, interim and final payments, and contract close-out processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure contractual deliveries from the design consultant.
• Review and comment on budgets and control budget spending during all design stages.
• Ensure value management for design consultant or employer-initiated changes during design stages.
• Oversee the preparation of tender documents in compliance with relevant standards, employer requirements, and measurement methods.
• Monitor the tender process to ensure compliance with proper procedures.
• Review tender submissions and compile a Tender Analysis Report addressing contractual and commercial aspects.
• Participate in contractor negotiations before award.
• Evaluate and recommend corrective measures for contract documents prepared by design consultants before signing.
• Provide expert contract advice during design, tender, and award processes.
• Track all contract-related correspondence, meeting minutes, and coordinate with the Project Manager.
• Liaise with the Audit department regarding contract awards, variations, and payments for compliance with audit requirements.
• Ensure contractual deliverables are met and processed, including interim and final payments.
• Monitor, evaluate, and recommend resolutions for variations, claims, and disputes.
• Ensure contract compliance and provide expert advice on contracts.
• Track all correspondence and minutes related to contract packages, coordinating with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate with the Audit department regarding variations and payments to ensure compliance with audit requirements.

Requirements and Skills

• Strong understanding of design, construction, and operational issues.
• In-depth knowledge of local market conditions and costing information.
• Proven experience using project control software systems.
• Demonstrated ability to administer large infrastructure contracts effectively.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent field.
• MRICS certification preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role.
