CONTROLLER - YARD

Job Description

• Monitor and control inbound and outbound flow of vehicles and cargo.
• Assign storage slots and optimize yard layout to prevent congestion and maximize space.
• Track vehicle and cargo movement using Yard Management System (YMS)/WMS.
• Conduct daily checks on yard occupancy, vehicle condition, and cargo placement.
• Report damages, discrepancies, or irregularities and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support customs and inspection processes in collaboration with authorities.
• Generate daily/weekly reports on occupancy, vehicle dwell time, and throughput.
• Enforce company SOPs, HSE rules, and yard traffic management standards.
• Coordinate with clients, transporters, and commercial team to ensure timely dispatches.
• Provide operational support during peak volumes or special projects.
  
  

Additional Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate VIN/barcode scanning and timely system updates for all vehicle movements.
• Supervise loading/unloading activities to prevent delays and damages.
• Assist in training new yard staff on operational processes and safety practices.
• Participate in periodic audits and inventory reconciliations with the operations team.
  
  

Escalate capacity, safety, or compliance issues to the Yard Operations Supervisor for action.
