Cycling Coach

POSITION SUMMARY

Reports directly to the Cycling Development Manager; the Cycling Coach is primarily responsible for teaching skills to all participants ranging from non-cyclists to experienced riders in line with the cycling standards, thrives on seeing people learn and overcome their fear of cycling. Always focused on achieving the highest level of satisfaction for each rider to ensure long-lasting cycling engagement. Has an authentic drive for wellness, fitness, and health as well as encourages riders to be the best possible version of themselves.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATION

• Establishes well-defined training objectives and incentivization programs in-line with the Cycling Development Manager and Aurora Group.
• Ensures that all sessions are conducted in compliance with safe cycling guidelines and WMF protocols.
• Provides quality cycle coaching experiences for participants in all sessions including juniors, seniors and experienced cyclists.
• Prioritizes rider satisfaction by adopting a personalized approach that values both individual and collective experiences.
• Actively explores strategies to attract new riders and expand community participation into various initiatives (Sponsors’ engagement, Corporate Programs, Community Rides) aligning with government health strategic directives to promote increased engagement in cycling.
• Adopts a professional approach to all community and corporate cycling sessions given.
• Must maintain a high level of fitness and skill to perform duties effectively and demonstrate abilities proficiently to community members.

SAFETY

• Complies with all Health & Safety regulations while always performing daily duties placing priority on rider safety.
• Identifies potential hazards and takes responsibility for reporting them, ensuring necessary actions are taken and communicated to the line manager.
• Proactively communicates internally with mechanic regarding any needs that relate to equipment and technical service requests.
• Possesses full knowledge of emergency procedures and performs expected behavior as per first aid training received in case of any unforeseen medical incident.
• Ensures that all riders complete the waiver before participating in rides, safeguarding the organization from potential legal issues in the event of an incident, and ensures the waivers are stored securely.

COMMUNICATION & COLLABORATION

• Engages in various cycling-related projects and initiatives to advance the sport and meet departmental OKRs.
• Collaborates effectively with performance support services & stakeholders, always promoting services for riders within the holding as a first priority.
• Actively participates in marketing initiatives and content creation for the social media to promote rides and the cycling community. This includes collaborating with the marketing department and supporting the success of social media campaigns and its strategies.

ADMINISTRATION

• Prepares monthly and quarterly reports (format to be determined by the line manager) covering attendance, community engagement, and corporate activations/events.
• Compiles departmental rosters and submit monthly to the HR as per company policy and procedures.
• Uses the designated project management software (Asana & OneDrive) as the main communication platform to assign tasks, streamline workload management, and foster cross-department collaboration.
• Maintains accurate administration records for all rides and events regarding attendance to measure effectively the engagement level across participants.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in physical education sports science or a related field.
• Relevant certificates in wellness and health coaching.
• Background in coaching, fitness, or nutrition.
• In-depth knowledge of health practices and a dedication to staying current with healthcare advancements are essential. A strong focus on preventing sports-related injuries and promoting safe training practices is also required.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform tasks with a commitment to inclusion, equity, and diversity, coupled with excellent skills in compassionate and patient communication.
• Knowledge of comprehensive, holistic methods when guiding and mentoring a team. Proficiency in computer software, including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Fluent in English, with Arabic proficiency considered an advantage.
• High adaptability to a dynamic cycling environment and changing circumstances.
• A solid sense of ownership, dedication, and skill in preserving confidentiality.
