Job Title: Data Protection Officer

Location: Dubai, UAE

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive data policy framework to ensure the protection and privacy of our organization's data. This role requires a deep understanding of data protection laws and regulations, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure compliance and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a data policy framework that aligns with legal requirements and industry best practices.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant legislation.
• Conduct regular data protection audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
• Provide guidance and training to employees on data protection policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT, legal, and other departments to ensure data protection measures are integrated into all business processes.
• Respond to data breaches and incidents, and coordinate with relevant authorities as necessary.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data protection trends and developments and recommend improvements to the data policy framework.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, Law, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Protection Officer or in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of local & international data protection laws and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT are a plus.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience in developing and implementing data policy frameworks.
• A minimum of 6 years' experience in similar role with a proven ability to develop and execute relevant strategies.
• Familiarity with data protection technologies and tools.
• Strong project management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
