Data Protection Officer

Location: Dubai or Saudi Arabia

Salary: 15k -20k AED per month

Are you an experienced Finance Data Protection Officer (DPO) looking for a new challenge? We're seeking a dedicated Data Protection Officer to shape data protection strategy for our client's finance operations in either Dubai or Saudi Arabia. Please note that this position is exclusively available to candidates already based in Dubai or Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Policy Development: Collaborate on robust Data Protection Policies.
• Data Governance: Implement an effective Data Governance framework.
• Compliance Oversight: Ensure staff adhere to data compliance guidelines.
• Training & Development: Organize employee training.
• Talent Development: Identify and nurture talent within the team.
• Strategy & Impact: Contribute to data protection strategy.
• Data Accuracy: Oversee data accuracy and destruction policies.
• Regulatory Compliance: Monitor compliance with data protection laws.
• Authority Engagement: Engage with relevant authorities and anticipate controls.
• Legal Guidance: Advise on data processing and local data protection laws.
• Stakeholder Support: Act as the point of contact for data-related issues.
• Privacy Expertise: Offer guidance on Data Protection and Privacy Laws.
• Project Review: Review projects for compliance with data privacy laws.
• Retention Compliance: Ensure adherence to the Retention Schedule.
• Data Transfers: Oversee compliant data transfers.
• Compliance Audits: Conduct internal data protection audits.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Relevant master's degree (law is a plus).
• 5+ years of finance-related privacy experience.
• Certifications like CIPP/C and/or CIPP/E are advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of privacy laws, including GDPR.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
• Independent consultant mindset.
