Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare a variety of traditional Indian sweets such as Gulab Jamun, Jalebi, Barfi, Ladoo, and Kheer, ensuring authenticity and quality.
- Experiment with new recipes and techniques to innovate and enhance the dessert menu.
- Source and select high-quality ingredients, ensuring freshness and authenticity in preparation.
- Maintain inventory of ingredients specific to Indian sweets and order supplies as needed.
- Ensure that all desserts are prepared according to established recipes and standards for taste, presentation, and portion size.
- Conduct regular quality checks on finished products and make adjustments as necessary.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff, including chefs and pastry teams, to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff on the preparation of Indian sweets.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow proper handling and storage procedures for all ingredients.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and update the dessert menu, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer feedback.
- Participate in special events and promotions that highlight Indian sweets.
- Engage with guests to understand their preferences and provide recommendations on Indian desserts.
- Gather feedback to continuously improve the dessert offerings.
- To assist the Chef de Partie in ensuring that all culinary standards in that section comply with Hotel Policies and Procedures and Minimum Standards.
- To maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other departments.
