JOB TITLE: Senior HSE Advisor
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day HSE activities in accordance with designated areas of responsibility.
- Develop and maintain necessary HSE MS documentation for the project.
- Initiate and support HSE Awareness programs and campaigns.
- Application of hazard identification and risk assessment processes in designated areas of responsibility and implementation of appropriate control measures to reduce the risks to ALARP.
- Participate in the review of the effectiveness of hazard controls/mitigations.
- Participate in implementing HSE lessons learned within designated areas of responsibility and communicating more widely where appropriate.
- Provide input to the HSE component of the action tracking system.
- Ensure HSE requirements are communicated to all relevant personnel in designated areas of responsibility and verify compliance by all appropriate means (meetings, inspections, monitoring, and audits).
- Assist fully in the investigation of incidents and near misses.
- Organize and participate fully and openly in all compliance assurance audits, inspections, performance meetings, etc.
- Ensure Objectives, Policies and Procedures are implemented in designated areas of responsibility.
- Provide input HAZID, HAZOP, HAZCON, ENVID, QRA Workshops organized by HSE Design.
- Carry out other related duties as advised by the supervisor.
- Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering OR Science OR HSE discipline (from an institution of higher learning authorized to grant academic degrees in the country of issue)
- Lead Auditor ISO45001/ ISO14001
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent
- Certification from atleast one professional body (e.g. BCSP, IOSH, BCRSP, CRBOH, NASP, IFE, BOHS, NASP, SocEnv, IChemE, NFPA)
- Incident Investigation technique
- Minimum 10-12 years’ experience in HSE in construction, fabrication, installation and/or commissioning projects / operations in the oil & gas or petrochemical industries, with at least 5 years’ experience in a lead HSE position managing team of HSE professionals
- Have strong understanding of the HSE issues, practices and behavioral aspects in the Oil & Gas EPC business.
- Able to lead a team of HSE personnel such as HSE officers, Hygiene officers etc.
- Sound understanding of the HSE Management System and HSE legislative requirements.
- Ability to develop and implement HSE plans, Welfare plans, Emergency response procedures/plans and site specific HSE procedures / work instructions.
- Practical experience in implementation of Safe System of Work (PTW/ WMS/ Risk Assessment etc.).
- Ability to conduct training/awareness sessions on relevant HSE procedures applicable to the scope of work.
- Ability to implement practical H2S control measures.
- Ability to conduct HSE audits and inspections.
- Ability to investigate incidents, identify immediate and root causes.
- Ability to speak, read and write English with good communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills.
