Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate a multi-disciplinary team to manage and update the weekly drilling rig schedule.
- Prepare pre-drill documentation, including detailed drillwell prognosis charts and formation evaluation programs.
- Perform real-time log correlations during drilling to ensure accurate stratigraphic identification and adjust trajectories as needed.
- Act as liaison between well-site geologists and the office team throughout drilling operations.
- Oversee geological operations to meet drillwell objectives safely and effectively.
- Ensure timely compilation, distribution, and digital filing of geological well data.
- Update geological models and collaborate with reservoir engineering to identify drilling and completion opportunities.
- Recommend perforation zones using well correlations, facies and properties mapping, and production/logging data.
- Integrate geology and production data to identify drilling/workover opportunities, including artificial lift and water shutoff.
- Analyze new well and workover performance post-completion.
- Monitor well performance and recommend optimization strategies for oil output and water cut control.
- Contribute to planning for appraisal and data acquisition in undeveloped reservoirs.
- Mentor junior geoscientists on geological principles, geophysics, and model interrogation.
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Geological Sciences.
- 15+ years of experience in Petroleum Geology and Geophysics.
- Strong background in carbonate geology/geophysics.
- Experience in integrated field and reservoir studies with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Advanced petroleum geology and reservoir characterization.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Mentoring capabilities.
- Experience in mature producing fields.
- Familiarity with carbonate sequence stratigraphy and advanced reservoir characterization.
- Knowledge of well completions, workovers, and production support.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Petrel (for geophysics and model interrogation)
- Techlog (for petrophysical log analysis)
