Key Responsibilities

DevOps Architecture and Strategy

• Design and implement the overall DevOps architecture for software-defined radio platforms
• Develop and maintain the strategic roadmap for DevOps practices and tooling
• Establish best practices for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment
• Architect scalable and secure infrastructure for SDR development and testing environments
  
  

CI/CD Pipeline Development

• Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for SDR software components
• Implement automated testing frameworks for software and firmware validation
• Develop deployment strategies that ensure minimal downtime and maximum reliability
• Create automated processes for building, testing, and deploying SDR software packages
  
  

Infrastructure Management

• Design and implement infrastructure as code for consistent environment provisioning
• Manage containerization and orchestration platforms for microservices architecture
• Optimize infrastructure for performance, reliability, and security
• Implement disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
  
  

Security Implementation

• Integrate security practices throughout the development lifecycle (DevSecOps)
• Implement secure coding practices and automated security scanning
• Ensure compliance with defence sector security requirements and standards
• Collaborate with security teams to address vulnerabilities and implement mitigations
  
  

Monitoring and Observability

• Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions for SDR systems and infrastructure
• Develop dashboards and alerting systems for system health and performance
• Create observability frameworks for troubleshooting complex distributed systems
• Establish metrics and KPIs for measuring system reliability and performance
  
  

Team Leadership and Collaboration

• Lead and mentor DevOps engineers and infrastructure teams
• Collaborate with software development, hardware engineering, and QA teams
• Work closely with product management to align infrastructure with product roadmap
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  
  

Process Improvement

• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality
• Conduct post-incident reviews and implement remediation measures
• Optimize resource utilization and cost management
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in DevOps and SDR
  
  

Documentation and Knowledge Management

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure and processes
• Develop runbooks and standard operating procedures for operations teams
• Establish knowledge sharing practices within and across teams
• Contribute to technical specifications and architecture documents
  
  

Research and Innovation

• Research and evaluate new tools and technologies for potential adoption
• Prototype innovative solutions for SDR-specific DevOps challenges
  
  

Compliance and Governance

• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
• Implement governance frameworks for infrastructure and deployment processes
• Collaborate with compliance teams on audit preparation and remediation
• Maintain documentation required for certification and accreditation processes
  
  

Education And Minimum Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with focus on wireless communications, embedded systems, or cybersecurity
• Desired: Advanced coursework or research in software-defined radio technologies, signal processing, or wireless communications systems
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or similar roles
• Minimum 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in wireless communication
• Demonstrated experience with software-defined radio platforms or wireless communication systems
• Experience implementing DevSecOps practices in highly regulated environments
• Experience with containerization technologies and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or similar)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, etc.) and on-premises infrastructure
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools for complex distributed systems
• Experience with secure software development practices and security compliance frameworks (NIST, RMF, etc.)

• Technical Skills:
• Expert knowledge of DevOps principles, practices, and toolchains
• Strong understanding of software-defined radio architectures and technologies
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Python, Bash, Go, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and administration
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and branching strategies
• Expertise in automated testing frameworks and continuous integration tools
• Knowledge of network protocols and wireless communication standards
• Understanding of signal processing concepts and digital communication systems
• Familiarity with embedded systems and hardware interfaces for SDR
• Experience with cybersecurity tools and practices for secure communications
