Director - Project Delivery

Overview

The opportunity

A Director - Project Delivery responsible for overseeing the implementation and integration of data center, AI and HPC solutions, ensuring they meet client requirements and are delivered on time and within budget. He/she coordinates cross-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, and vendors, to manage project milestones, resolve issues, and maintain communication with stakeholders. Additionally, His/her is tasked with risk management, resource allocation, and ensuring that deployment processes adhere to quality standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

Objectives of this role:

• Ensure the seamless deployment of data center, AI and HPC solutions, meeting specified requirements and delivering functionality as expected.
• Manage project timelines to ensure that deployments are completed on schedule.
• Maintain control over project budgets, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and expenditures are within the allocated limits.
• Facilitate clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including clients, team members, and management.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with the deployment of AI and HPC solutions.
• Ensure that the client’s needs and expectations are met, resulting in a successful deployment and high customer satisfaction.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans outlining deployment timelines, milestones, resource requirements, and deliverables.
• Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget.
• Collaborate with various teams such as Infra Architect,engineering, data science, IT, and vendors to ensure smooth deployment.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, internal stakeholders, and project team members.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with the deployment process.
• Monitor and control project expenses to ensure adherence to the budget.
• Engage with clients to understand their needs, gather requirements, and ensure satisfaction.
• Oversee the transition from deployment to operational support, ensuring a smooth handover.
  
  

Qualifications

To qualify for the role you must have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced knowledge in AI, HPC, or project management is preferred.
• 10 years or more experience in data centre planning or management, particularly within AI and HPC environments. Familiarity with large-scale data centre operations and high-performance computing infrastructure is essential.
• Understanding of AI technologies, machine learning, high-performance computing, and related architectures. Familiarity with the tools and platforms used in AI and HPC environments.
• Experience in managing client relationships, understanding their needs, and ensuring satisfaction.
• Proficiency in managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and controlling costs.
  
  

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience managing data centre projects, including construction, upgrades, and maintenance, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Knowledge of current trends in AI and HPC, including emerging technologies and industry applications.
• Strong skills in coordinating with cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships.
• Excellent communication skills for working with IT, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to align data centre operations with organizational goals.
