Key Responsibilities
The Retail Driving Salesman is responsible for achieving sales targets set by the Sales Supervisor/ASM in the assigned area, ensuring effective coverage of the route and maintaining product distribution standards. The role involves following a strict visit schedule using HHT, ensuring the truck is loaded with minimum stock levels, and reporting new establishments in the assigned area. The Salesman should communicate potential distribution issues, reconcile daily sales, print receipts, and deposit cash with the cashier promptly. Maintaining discipline, good relationships with colleagues, and ensuring product displays meet minimum standards are essential. Regular vehicle checks for oil and water levels, cleanliness, and timely reporting of vehicle issues are part of the role. Compliance with UAE traffic rules and conducting market surveys, especially regarding competitor activities, are also required. The Salesman should provide market feedback and perform additional tasks assigned by the Sales Supervisor/Manager.
Success Factors
Success in this role is measured by achieving sales and collection targets, ensuring distribution in lower-end trade as per company standards, maintaining optimal product shelving, and providing excellent service to customers. Regular reimbursement of rented shelves, pallets, and block displays, along with equitable distribution of trade campaigns among customers, are important success factors.
Skills And Qualifications
Ideal candidates for the Retail Driving Salesman position should have FMCG experience in a reputed company, with at least 2 years of sales exposure, demonstrating proficiency in inventory management and knowledge of vehicle maintenance and operation. They must possess strong merchandising skills and be proficient in English, both written and verbal. A valid UAE driving license is required, along with excellent driving skills and a thorough understanding of traffic laws. Selling and negotiation skills are vital for success in this role. Additionally, candidates should have good interpersonal communication skills, be organized, proactive, and work well within a team. The position requires a minimum of 10 years of education.
