Core Accountabilities

Writes and reviews articles, documents, and statements used in EDGE Group’s external collateral, press releases, and other informational materials. His/her main responsibilities include collaborating with management and other staff members, including those in the editorial team, to determine what information is being released, researching topics and facts, and writing and editing documentation and other content, copywriting, and checking for factual accuracy. He/she will guide corporate communication and engagement plans for key business deliverables and projects and design communication tools tailored to the unique needs of each group cluster, and in key international markets. The Editor will ensure that the EDGE tone of voice is maintained across all communications including external and internal communications to protect and amplify the group’s reputation and brand across all audiences.

Supporting Accountabilities:

Effectively manage the editorial team and work collaboratively with all communications units.

  • Responsible for overseeing the content publication in order to create engaging content for any communications channel.
  • Approve proofs, setting content and publication goals, and generating content ideas.
  • Oversees the work from the team of writers (Communications Specialists) and is responsible for curating fresh, relevant, and informative content. Directs creation of new content and determines when and how to re-surface prior work during relevant news.
  • Helps the team craft and refine ideas, cultivate sources, report, and write articles.
  • Responsible for editing explainers written by leaders across the organisation .
  • Ensures that all written materials are accurate and of high quality.
  • Upskill or educate content writers about best practices for writing well.
  • Advising clients (internal stakeholders) regarding changes needed within specific pieces, so everything comes together seamlessly as a cohesive EDGE communication piece.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an editor or copywriter for a large international corporate company, agency in a seconded role to a major company, preferably in either the defense , aviation, technology, or healthcare sectors, or in the field of education.
  • Sound and proven experience in senior stakeholder management.

Education:

Bachelor’s in journalism, Communications, English, Business, or Marketing is preferable
