CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the procurement, food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.

OR

• 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years experience in the procurement, food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

• Responsible for ensuring that the OSH MS is implemented and maintained, and performance reports are presented to top management at least quarterly.
• Ensure that a copy of the OSH Policy is issued to all Managers and appropriate Departments, kept at hand.
• Endeavour to establish at all levels within the hotel the understanding that compliance with the regulations and prevention of injury and damage is essential integral part of business and operational efficiency.
• To increase health and safety awareness at all levels within the organization
• Provide specialist advice and support to senior management regarding the management of workplace hazards and risks.
• Ensure OSH performance monitoring system is in place to ensure the effectiveness of injury prevention and risk management policies and procedures.
• Ensure that OSH objectives, targets and management programs are established and are consistent with the hotel OSH policy.
• Act as liaisons all internal and relevant external departments and other agencies as needed on matters relative to OSH compliance and issues.
• Assist with the investigation of OSH issues or incidents;
• Hold OSH committee meetings.
• Reprimand any member of the staff failing to discharge satisfactorily their responsibilities towards health and safety.
• Ensure the following are submitted and/or reported to DCT:
• OSH Quarterly performance
• Annual external audit report
• Notify the reportable incidents
  • Submit incident investigation
• Ensure risk assessment are conducted and communicated to all concern.
• Provide support to the entire operations team in all aspect of occupational health and safety.
• Ensure training, scheduled meetings and drills are implemented as part of hotel’s OSHMS implementation.
• Providing workplace OSH orientation to employees and contractors in accordance with OSHMS training requirements.
