Electrical Engineer – Solar Inverters, Battery Systems & EV Chargers

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and optimize systems involving solar inverters, energy storage (battery) systems, and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. This role will involve hands-on engineering, system integration, performance testing, and cross-functional collaboration with product development, operations, and field service teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and integration of solar PV systems, inverters, and battery energy storage systems (BESS)
• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using CAD tools
• Specify and select electrical components and systems for solar + storage + EV charging installations
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes (e.g., NEC, IEC, UL, IEEE) and safety standards
• Conduct performance modeling and simulations for system optimization
• Support field installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of systems
• Collaborate with R&D to evaluate and test new inverter, battery, and EV charging technologies
• Provide technical documentation, system manuals, and support for permitting and utility interconnection
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including project management, procurement, and field teams
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE required; MSEE is a plus)
• 3+ years of experience in solar PV, inverter systems, battery storage, or EV charging
• Knowledge of grid-tied inverters, MPPT algorithms, and AC/DC system design
• Familiar with lithium-ion battery technology, BMS, and charging protocols (e.g., OCPP, ISO 15118)
• Proficiency in electrical modeling tools (e.g., PVSyst, ETAP, Homer, AutoCAD, or similar)
• Understanding of electrical protection systems and coordination studies
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
• Hands-on experience with system testing, validation, or field commissioning is a strong plus
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward one is a bonus
