The Electrical Inspector will assist the Electrical Engineer, MEP Lead or Resident Engineer in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project. The Inspector will participate in review and approval of all submittals by the contractors and involves in the quality control and quality assurance.
Under the supervision of the Resident Engineer or MEP Lead, performs routine inspection monitoring tasks to confirm if proper construction supervision is being performed by others. Inspects various facets of work on the construction site and performs continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Document non-conformance and may participate in determining appropriate resolution.

Responsibilities
- Assist the RE/PM, and/or Electrical Engineer and/or MEP Lead in performing the contractual duties on site.
- Interface with the public, especially residents and business owners adjacent to the work to mitigate the construction impacts.
- Follow-up with the contractor and support in coordinating with the utility authority regarding connections whenever required.
- Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used for the construction supervision works and monitors it for improvement.
- Monitors and coordinates all contractors' activities for this discipline.
- Performs works inspection requests and material inspection requests on a daily basis.
- Support the Electrical Engineer in reviewing construction submittals from project inception to close-out.
- Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
- Reviews and interprets discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current re vision level and correct technical execution of the work.
- Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinates application of solutions to ensure progress on site.
- Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.
- Ensures that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.
- Organizes the accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report.
- Assist in overseeing and inspecting all mechanical and plumbing work and ensure that installation activities comply with contractual obligations and quality control standards.
- Initiates and maintains records, back charge procedures, progress reports, etc., as required.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- External Communications: Help others get the most out of external communications systems by offering support and advice.
- Construction Management: Supervise others on a construction project, working within established operational systems.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
- Work Scheduling and Allocation: Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines.
- Leadership and Direction: Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the function's strategy and action plan and to the broader organization's mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals.
- Performance Management: Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance; or monitor the performance of the team, allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality, and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal.
- Organizational Capability Building: Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills.
- Quality Assurance: Plan and coordinate testing and inspection of products and processes. Implement corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives and monitor them to make sure they are effective.
- Operational Compliance: Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
