An Electrician with Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical infrastructure to support seamless day-to-day operations, elevate guest satisfaction, and uphold the highest standards of hospitality excellence.

As an electrician, you are responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems across the hotel, as well as responding to Guest, Manager, Team Members, and emergency requests promptly. What Will I Be Doing
As an electrician, you are responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems across the hotel, as well as responding to Guest, Manager, Team Members, and emergency requests promptly. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on a broad range of electrical systems and equipment throughout the property.
- Assemble, install, and connect electrical wiring, control devices, fixtures, and outlets in compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Install and support audio/visual equipment in guest rooms and function spaces, including microphones, lighting systems, and other event-related setups as requested.
- Respond swiftly and professionally to emergency electrical situations to minimize disruption and ensure safety.
- Conduct routine inspection rounds to confirm proper functioning of all lighting systems and electrical equipment in guest areas, public spaces, and back-of-house.
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and accurately complete associated logs and incident reports.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functionality of all tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and technical training to continually enhance electrical expertise.
- Tag electrical appliances and maintain inventory registers as required, ensuring accurate asset tracking and compliance.
- Collaborate with the broader engineering team to support cross-functional maintenance initiatives and operational excellence.
- Assist with the implementation of energy efficiency measures and contribute to sustainability efforts.
- Ensure all electrical work is carried out in accordance with local regulations, fire safety codes, and hotel standards.
An Electrician serving Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within a luxury hotel or high-end commercial environment.
- Certified electrician with a diploma or relevant trade qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, wiring, lighting, and control panels.
- Experience in installing and maintaining AV systems, lighting rigs, and event-related electrical setups is an advantage.
- Familiarity with building automation systems (BMS) and energy-efficient technologies.
- Good knowledge of health & safety practices, fire safety codes, and relevant local regulations.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and electrical diagrams.
- Competent in completing preventive maintenance tasks and keeping accurate maintenance records.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, guest-centric environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a courteous, professional demeanor.
- Committed to delivering high-quality work and exceptional service at all times.
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to respond effectively to various operational needs, including emergency calls and shift work.
- Well-groomed with a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
