JOB TITLE: Welding Engineer (Site)

Key Responsibilities

• Relevant discipline specific duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Develop, Review and approve site ITPs, QCPs, WPS and ITRs based on corporate standard.
• Coordinate with the customers representative on all quality Welding related matters.
• Coordinate failure analysis and root cause analysis on welding related issues.
• Plan, conduct, track and report welding engineering investigations.
• Monitoring Welding Procedure and Welder Qualifications.
• Verify that the Welding related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards.
• Monitor and control of sub-contractor Welding repair rate.
• Participate in the internal and external site audits.
• Coordinate all the Welding related inspections through the site Welding inspectors.
• Control all non-conformance reports related to welding and undertake remedial action.
• Review the customers specification and undertake relevant training to the site Welding inspectors.
• Monitor the implementation of the approved site QC Plan.
• Complete and coordinate the approval of the sites QC technical submittals related to Welding to the customer.
• Arrange tool box talks/training in coordination with subcontractors.
• Assure all technical welding documents relative to site quality control are current status.
• Supervise Sub-contractor Welding Engineers.
• Prepare daily surveillance reports, attend quality walkthroughs and report issues which need to circulated as a quality alert.
  
  

Essential Qualifications And Skills

• Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering or equivalent.
• CSWP 3.2.2 or AWS SCWI certification.
• International Welding Engineer (IWE) - Preferable
• ASNT/PCN NDE Certifications
• Minimum 10 years experience as Welding Engineer.
• Should have experience in oil & gas/petrochemical industry.
• Should have previously worked with major EPC contractor.
