Job Purpose

Preparation of Pretender Documents for Capex Projects which includes individual discipline wise Project briefs, Scope of works, Bill of Quantities, Technical Specifications, and drawings as required for Civil. Responding to Tender Clarification for bidders during tender process within targeted time as per project schedule for mechanical section.

Key Accountabilities

• Creating Preparing Project briefs of requirements for new projects in close coordination with end users.
• Preparing scope of works/Specifications for consultants and/or contractors related to mechanical discipline.
• Reviews and checks the design works of consultants/contractors to ensure that they are in accordance with the agreed scope of works and contract requirements. Reviews/approves drawings, specifications and other technical documents for all types of projects incorporating the comments and requirements in accordance with contract documents.
• Reviews and checks bidders’ lists and tender documents prepared by Consultant for Heat load calculations mechanical equipment such as chillers, fan coil units, air handling units, VAV boxes, building management systems, etc. requirements in accordance with contract documents, ASHRAE, SMACNA,ESTIDAMA and all international standards.
• Review and checks the design of works of consultants/contractors plumbing and drainage system in accordance with contract documents, Authorities & international codes.
• Review and checks the design/hydraulic calculations of works of consultants/contractors of Fire Protection system such as Fire Hydrant system Fire Suppression, Foam deluge system, Water deluge system and Sprinkler system in accordance with contract documents, ADCD authorities requirements & international Codes such as NFPA,.
• Monitors construction progress and quality of works and ensures that its compliance with the construction works is in accordance with the contract requirements.
• Ensures that the design, specification and drawings are fully coordinated with other discipline engineers.
• Audits installation of systems and equipment during construction stage, and witnesses pre-commissioning and commissioning of equipment/systems. Assures that the installation/performance and the equipment are in accordance with contract specifications.
• Provides full cooperation to Project Control Department in internal HSE/Quality auditing in all projects at all phases as Auditee.
• Ensures cost-effective solutions and application of value added engineering throughout the duration of the design and construction projects.
  
  

Job Specific Accountabilities

• Provides work direction to Design Consultant and Project Management consultants in the respective area of work.
• Preparation of reports for supporting Invoices and Monthly bills as Planned verses actual report
• Project close out documents such as As-built drawings, handover documents, O&M manuals, Trainings and necessary reports.
• Knows the requirements of Contractual HSE requirements and relevant UAE workmen’s regulations and ensures that they are complied with in projects.
• Familiarize with Company’s HSE policy and the requirements of HSE Management System
• Zero (0) LTI , ensuring company’s HSE procedure and plan during execution of works.
• Shall be familiar with all emergency procedures of the job site and should know the location of the nearest fire extinguisher and the assembly point.
• Responsible for ensuring PTW system on daily basis and Reporting HSE observation
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
  
  

Minimum Requirement

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 8 years’ experience in civil/building projects including at least 6 years in design
