Job Overview:
The Estimator applies their conceptual knowledge of estimating and, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward estimating problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Estimator understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.

They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Estimator understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Review past projects, analyze the cost and other aspects of estimates and proposals to provide data that will assist management in gaining confidence in estimates for new bids and help in deciding the level of markups, analyze risk factors & impacts, and exposures, etc.
- Update and maintain statistics on the Benchmark indices and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accountable for the professional packaging of one’s deliverables as internal clients are senior leaders (Directors, Sr. Directors, VPs, etc.)
- Develop, assist in the development, and lead the development of all processes, procedures, works instructions, and guidelines for the estimating function at the enterprise level
- Assist in the facilitation of collaboration between operating units to increase alignment across all departments
- Support initiatives such as software implementation, parametric data leveraging, training, risk evaluations, escalation, etc.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives at the enterprise level
- Attend conferences to network and stay abreast of the market trends
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is a plus
- 3+ years of experience in a large Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company (preferably in estimating, project controls, and data analytics)
- Highly experienced in Microsoft Excel with experience utilizing Visual Basic Analysis (VBA)
- Estimating and Project Controls background
- Background in developing or managing project historical data collection and analysis systems
- Willingness to travel for short periods domestically or internationally to support the development and rollout of estimating initiatives
- Desire to make a difference in a large EPC Infrastructure organization
