The opportunity

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Field Service Manager (Service Operations). In this role we will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing Field Service Operations at Hitachi Energy Services - UAE, ensuring high- quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the role will focus on expanding our Field Service population in line with Service and New Business growth in UAE & assigned market countries Oman, Pakistan. The role works closely with operations, training network and to be able drive operational excellence in Field service team and lead a team of Field service engineers. This role reports directly to the Local Service Unit Manager – UAE (LSU PGSV UAE).

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Leading, developing and managing the requirements for the role and competence matrix of Field Service Network for the UAE’s Hitachi Energy Service division and the Field Service Network capabilities and capacity planning, standard framework, tools and standards.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the Field Service Operations.
  • Foster a culture of strong collaboration between the factories, service units and functions.
  • Attending site escalation meetings. Lead Team of field service engineers to ensure the service projects are executed with safety and quality.
  • Participate in critical project reviews. Ensure projects costs are within limits, overruns are flagged early.
  • Ensure regular updates project progress, timesheets, Co-ordinate with different departments in factory such as Engineering, Sales, SCM, PM etc. to get the required information for smooth execution of service projects.
  • Measure team KPIs and report monthly. Take necessary measures to focus KPI that are not achieving the target.
  • Provide update to Service management team on statuses of various service projects.
  • Ensure all the team / individuals are audited and audit shortcomings are followed up and closed on time.
  • Coordinating with internal teams (technical, operations, finance, and legal) for proposal preparation, delivery, and project execution from time to time and maintaining contact with various suppliers & service vendors.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading large teams, strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong customer focus and result oriented.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities & Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to work independently, with a strategic and result-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the power sector (high voltage, transformers, grid integration, service) sector.
  • Knowledge of specific power sector systems and technologies.
  • Multilingual capabilities & Complex project implementation record.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
