Job Description Summary Finance Lean leader responsible for transforming GE Aerospace results through the application of lean principles. A finance leader with deep finance domain expertise and a passion for driving transformational change.

The Finance Lean Leader will be a player and coach with the finance function, driving increased value in the way work is done. Influential leader able to drive both a change in operating mindset and ensure FLIGHT DECK principles are applied effectively in support of strategic and operational business plans.

The responsibility of this position is to develop FLIGHT DECK proficiency among GE Aerospace Finance leaders and team members establishing standards to improve local and global finance processes, prepare and build processes to support a standalone company and, to be a partner to Finance leaders and teams in establishing practices and deploying lean principles that promote and enable GE Aerospace’s global lean transformation.

The Finance Lean Leader Will Serve As a Team Player, Lean And Finance Domain Coach, Facilitator, Educator, Advocate And Accountability Partner To The Finance Function And Business CFOs To Drive The Understanding And Application Of FLIGHT DECK Principles And Tools Within Finance Systems, Tools And Overall Approach. The Finance Lean Leader Will

  • Create value stream alignment through value stream analysis for Finance, lead and coach the finance teams in visualising the information flows and system transactions to identify and build action plans to radically transform the non-value-add to value-add ratio for work that is done and reduce lead time.
  • Partner with finance professionals globally and lean leaders to prioritise and solve problems based on voice of the customer related to safety, quality, delivery, cost and cash within the businesses and functions through the application of lean.
  • Able to lead through influence with proven coaching capability, assist finance teams in establishing daily, weekly and monthly operating systems while also developing finance leaders as lean coaches and practitioners business wide to drive incremental and breakthrough improvement year over year.
  • Design, develop and establish standards, tools and templates to form an efficient Kaizen Promotion Office for GE Aerospace Finance ensuring all content is meaningful and relatable to Finance domain team members while ensuring alignment to the FLIGHT DECK Operations Office. Coach the deployment and implementation across Finance globally.
  • Collaborate with finance teams across GE Aerospace to assess value streams, processes and practices as compared to lean company benchmarks, both internal and external. Assist in establishing and executing transformation plans based on the prioritised gaps and develop new process capability through the execution of kaizen events.

Required Qualifications

  • Major experience as a Finance leader with a proven track record having developed deep domain expertise across multiple Finance disciplines.
  • A lean practitioner with more than two years of application in a transactional lean environment able to demonstrate impact on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Cash.
  • Demonstrated ability in solving complex problems and transforming results and process through the application of Lean techniques.
  • Lean practitioner, capable of facilitating kaizen events and coaching the core tools such as Daily Visual Management, Structured Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Transactional Process Improvement and Kanban.

Desiredqualifications

  • Specific experience reducing Working Capital with a primary focus on transactional value stream analysis and waste elimination.
  • Experience driving business transformation preferably in a major turn-around. The ideal candidate has been through complex change and tough situations; bringing a will to win with strong and proven capability of leading through influence.
  • Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrix organisations – understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc. Can drive work around the world because they are accountable, trustworthy, credible, committed, and intellectually agile.
  • Change agent, able to make the case for lean and demonstrate immediate impact.
  • Highly collaborative person, influential leader, capable coach who is comfortable with conflict and debate normally associated with change.
  • Critical thinker with the ability to bring others along, even those with conflicting priorities.
  • Impactful communicator from the shop floor to the boardroom.
  • A leader serving as part of a virtual team; working remotely with in-person attendance at GE Aerospace sites as and when necessary to deliver value

Flexible Working/Location

This can be either hybrid or fully remote though candidates must be willing to travel (40-50%) of the time. Genba based application is essential.
