Job Purpose

As the Finance Team Lead, the focus areas across the major units include analysing risks and internal controls related to revenue, credit cards, indirect taxes, master management, and supplier and employee disbursements within the business unit. The role involves identifying solutions, mitigating risk, and ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial accounting through GL review and reconciliation, in compliance with Group Policies and Procedures. It also covers Group Finance Masters – Revenue and Cost, Revenue/Yield reporting, Commercial Systems, facilitating tax compliance, delivering service to internal and external customers, and managing and enhancing key processes to improve efficiency and drive cost optimisation.

In This Role, You Will

  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders to identify, evaluate and review respective team activities and functions and provide recommendations to Senior Management for process and system enhancements for managing overall risk, coordinate with the relevant stakeholders to ensure that the recommended changes are implemented as agreed by the management.
  • Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and specific work instructions and ensure compliance to the Group Finance Policies and Procedures.
  • Work with the external, internal and government auditors to resolve their queries and observations by providing the required analytical information to ensure the smooth completion of the audit.
  • Manage, motivate and develop the team into a cohesive working unit, maximise team accuracy and productivity so that respective team deliverables are completed in the most cost effective way and as per the KPIs set.

Specifically within EK Revenue Services: 

  • Manage the process of determining and accounting forward sales liabilities accurately, completely and in a timely manner so that the forward sales liabilities represented in the balance sheet against the individual locations accurately reflects the auditable position on hand.
  • Establish receivables due from all sales channels accurately, completely and in a timely manner so that the amounts match with the actual receivable from various form of payments
  • Establish pre-paid commissions and discounts completely and in a timely manner so that the current assets position in the balance sheet on account of the locations reflects the actual financial position.
  • Manage the Sales Processing Control unit to ensure Agent Credit Memos, EMD over utilization, Sales Not reported etc are verified and appropriate action taken to protect EK’s interest
  • Manage the Default agent processing on timely manner as per IATA regulations and raise Agent Debit Memos where required
  • Support Finance Manager with analytical/compliance data requirements for key business decisions, compliance reporting and escalations.

Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • 5+ Years Experience in Airline Finance - Revenue Accounting
  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in Relevant Field

You'll Have An Edge If You Have

  • Expertise in managing system changes, UAT, supporting initiatives such as new products/payment methods to meet business objectives, compliance audits such as GDPR, PCI DSS etc.
  • Effective business partnerships internal and external, experienced on industry level projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with Senior Management internally and externally.
  • Advanced level of analytical thinking and presentation skills.
  • Advanced leadership skills.
