About The Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Accounting Department in Dubai, the Financial Accountant is responsible for analysing the balance sheets, cash flows & P&L statements for abnormalities. Financial Accountant will be overlooking the payroll process and the accounts payable. The Financial Accountant must act as the Chief Accountant during his/her absence. Financial Accountant reports to Chief Accountant.

About The Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Accounting Department in Dubai, the Financial Accountant is responsible for analysing the balance sheets, cash flows & P&L statements for abnormalities. Financial Accountant will be overlooking the payroll process and the accounts payable. The Financial Accountant must act as the Chief Accountant during his/her absence. Financial Accountant reports to Chief Accountant.
As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Monitor daily in-house reports, verify completeness of operation packages, assist with surprise cash counts, and ensure accurate outlet gratuity reconciliations.
- Support the Chief Accountant in month-end closing activities, journal preparations, and reconciliation of general ledger and sub-ledger accounts.
- Regularly analyse balance sheet accounts, verify cash-related transactions, and ensure all accounts are accurately maintained and cleared as needed.
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies, liaise with auditors, prepare necessary documentation, and stay updated on relevant regulations.
- Oversee the filing of financial records, ensure document retention compliance, and maintain an accurate Chart of Accounts.
- Assist across various finance functions (e.g., payroll, AR/AP), ensure proper handling of tax matters, attend tax seminars, and support secretarial tasks when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with professional certification such as CPA or CMA.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in hospitality finance/accounting.
- Proficient in key systems including PMS, POS, Purchasing, Payroll, and Reporting—preferably Springer Miller, Infogenesis, Moreton Bay, Oasys, SUN System, and Hyperion Planning.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English, along with strong analytical abilities.
- Demonstrates leadership and interpersonal skills essential for team and cross-departmental collaboration.
