We are seeking an experienced GIS Consultat/Urban Planner with over 10 years of expertise in utilizing ESRI GIS, FME and open-source technology, and day-to-day geospatial consultancy and project management where staff are hybrid working around the Middle East, India and UK.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urban planning, spatial analysis, and data management. This role involves working closely with urban planners, engineers, and other stakeholders to support urban development projects through advanced GIS applications. You will be required to gather requirements, administer Esri technologies and solutions, presenting the solution and benefits to clients and working in agile scrum with a wider consultancy and development team.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Utilize ESRI GIS software and tools to create, manage, and analyse spatial data.
- Develop and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Conduct spatial analysis and modelling to support urban planning and development projects.
- Identify and Automate data processes using FME or python and assist in upskilling others in the team in this area
- Pre-process structured and unstructured data to facilitate analysis.
- Understanding of the design/masterplan processes and revise a research methodology appropriate to the project scope and timescale
- Developing project-specific urban analytics methodologies to integrate into planning and design processes.
- Prepare maps, reports, and presentations to communicate spatial data and analysis results.
- Provide specific technical expertise in spatial planning, regional planning, developing governance and implementation strategies.
- The ability to coherently present findings both verbally and visually to a wide range of professionals, clients and consultants with varying degrees of data literacy.
- Collaborate with urban planners, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate GIS data into planning processes.
- Provide technical support and training to team members on GIS applications and tools.
- Stay updated with the latest GIS technologies and urban planning trends.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and government (approving agencies) to advance approvals of development, Master Plans, Development Guidelines and policies.
Technical Skills:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Urban Planning or
- related field.
- Strong experience with GIS technologies such as ArcGIS and QGIS. Experience with web mapping technologies and spatial databases.
- Knowledge of data structures, system design, and algorithms.
- Expertise in providing technical guidance for developing regional plans, city or national spatial strategies, comprehensive city plans and governance and implementation frameworks and action plans.
- Ability to lead and manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects to successful delivery of outcomes within budget and programme.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to developing high-quality, user-focused solutions.
- Experience in urban planning and public sector projects is highly desirable.
