Job Purpose
Priority Banking (PRB) manages affluent customer relationships, providing a full range of products and services to meet their needs. Priority Banking is a unit within the Retail Banking division. The PRB division have sub segments namely Affluent Banking, Signature Banking, Executive Banking & Emerging Banking. This team consists of 125 staff in RM coverage, 65 in CSR coverage sitting across 22 PRB centers. Currently, PRB has a population of 52,000 customers with approximately 14,000 marked as high risk.
Personal Banking (PSB) manages customer relationships, providing a full range of products and services to meet their needs. Personal Banking is a unit within the Retail Banking division. The PSB division have several sub segments such as PSB Classic, PSB plus and PSB Emirati etc. This team consists of 1000 staff in 66 Branches.
Currently, PSB has a population of circa 1.2 million active customers with approximately 125K marked as high risk.
The Governance team role within the segment is an important part of the overall business support function and is tasked with supporting the unit with all compliance and regulatory related requests and issues.
As a Manager Operations & Governance you will be in charge of managing a team of governance specialist to manage compliance queries, operations, risk and controls, process improvement and training.

As a Manager Operations & Governance you will be in charge of managing a team of governance specialist to manage compliance queries, operations, risk and controls, process improvement and training.
Responsibilities
- Team Management and Leadership: Mentoring team members to achieve their personal growth agenda
- Compliance and ops Risk: Maintaining a high level of awareness regarding policy and procedure and fostering collaboration with customers, Relationship Managers (RMs), centers, and compliance teams.
- Operational Support: Acting as main point of contact for the segment staff and coordinate actions to provide all relevant support.
- Remediation Projects & training: Assisting Sr. Manager Governance in all ongoing group and team projects and any thematic reviews as identified.
- Customer Centricity: Maintaining a high level of communication standards whether verbal or written and ensuring timely and meaningful engagement with customers on assigned alerts and remediation tasks.
- Stakeholder management: Identify key stakeholders and analyze their needs & expectations.
Education
- University Degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Economics or Equivalent would be preferable.
- External certifications like ACAMs, ICA or any other risk management learning courses would be an added advantage.
- 7-10 years in a Banking/ Financial industry managing business risk, operations, policies & procedures.
- Experience in managing large teams.
- Fair knowledge of KYC & financial crime risks.
- Project management skills.
- Experience in attending, managing internal risk forums.
- Excellent communication skills – Both reading & writing. (English)
- Excel & PowerPoint skills would be an added advantage.
- Problem solving capabilities and people skills.
- Organized & disciplined.
- Detail oriented. Candidate should be able to work under pressure with a positive customer service attitude.
