WSP in the Middle East are looking for a Research and Development (R&D) Graduate Consultant - Ground Engineering to join us in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

As a R&D Graduate Consultant in Ground Engineering, you will assist experienced engineers and geotechnical professionals in pushing the boundaries and frontiers of established practices with science based approaches using cutting edge technologies, processes and including deep learning in computer vision, MMLs and Ai.

By bringing in a fresh perspective and advanced research and development skills, the graduate student will contribute to enhancing our efficiency and positioning us as thought leaders in the industry.

Your new role, what's involved?

• Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies and implement best practices to reduce costs and enhance project timelines using AI in engineering.
• Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research into emerging AI technologies and their practical applications within ground engineering.
• Data Collection: Gather and analyze data from multiple sources to guide project decisions, support AI integration strategies, and solve complex engineering challenges.
• AI Implementation: Collaborate with technical teams to deploy AI solutions across ground engineering disciplines using tools such as Microsoft Azure Sandbox.
• Innovation: Introduce science-based technologies and modern methodologies to improve workflows from planning through execution.
• Data-Driven Decisions: Use advanced analytics, big data, and cutting-edge data collection techniques to drive informed decision-making, minimize risk, and boost productivity.
• Cutting-Edge Research: Lead and publish research on industry innovations, trends, and best practices to showcase technical leadership and domain expertise.
• Collaborative Projects: Partner with clients and global specialists on joint research initiatives to strengthen relationships and promote shared growth.
• Outcomes: Over the year at WSP, the candidate will grow their AI-for-engineering knowledge, enrich their professional portfolio, and deliver impactful innovation initiatives—contributing to a faster, smarter, and more agile organization.
  
  

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• Educational Background: MSc in AI, Data Science, Engineering, Transport Studies, or a related field. Candidates nearing graduation are also considered.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AI technologies, data analysis tools, machine learning (supervised and unsupervised learning), neural networks, deep learning, and programming languages such as Python or R. Experience with Microsoft Azure Sandbox is desirable.
• AI Engineering Knowledge: Understanding of AI and engineering principles, including machine learning techniques such as supervised/unsupervised learning, neural networks, and deep learning. Ability to explore and apply AI/ML workflows to prepare, process, and analyze data to develop creative solutions for complex engineering and design problems.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex data and insights.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including the skill to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Project Management: Capable of effectively managing multiple tasks, projects, and deliverables in a structured and timely manner.
• Team Collaboration: Proven experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary, diverse team environments to achieve shared goals.
• Passion for Innovation: A strong interest in using AI to drive innovation across ground and geotechnical engineering disciplines.
• Flexibility: Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
