Wood is currently recruiting for a Document Controller to join our team in Abu Dhabi. This office-based role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business, supporting engineering and project teams by managing documentation workflows and ensuring compliance with project standards.

- Manage and control project documentation workflows, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance with project standards
- Maintain document registers, version control, and distribution logs
- Support engineering and project teams by ensuring timely access to updated documents
- Demonstrate awareness of company policies and procedures related to document control
- Maintain a high level of computer literacy and familiarity with document management systems and relevant software tools
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities – Document Controller
- Manage and maintain project documentation in accordance with company standards and client requirements.
- Ensure accurate control of incoming and outgoing documents, including version control, distribution, and archiving.
- Support engineering and project teams by ensuring timely access to updated and approved documentation.
- Demonstrate understanding of document control procedures and their application in a project environment.
- Maintain document registers and logs, ensuring traceability and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare clear and concise written communications and reports related to document status and control.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures that impact document management activities.
- Maintain a good level of computer literacy and familiarity with document management systems and relevant software tools.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with project milestones.
- Assist in audits and reviews by providing required documentation and ensuring readiness of records.

Expected
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Engineering, AI / Data science or Information Management).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining documentation accuracy and integrity.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with document control systems and software (e.g., SharePoint, EDMS, Aconex).
- Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to documentation.
- Prior experience in document control within engineering, construction, or oil & gas projects (preferred).
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a structured and professional environment.
