WSP are seeking a highly motivated and talented Graduate Engineer looking for a a career specializing in Transport Planning & Mobility, to join our team based in the UAE. As a Graduate Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our transport planning and mobility projects, contributing to the development of sustainable and efficient transportation solutions across the region.

Your new role, what's involved?

  • Data Analysis: Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting transportation-related data, including traffic volume, travel patterns, and demographic information. Use software tools and techniques to process and visualize data for transportation studies and planning projects.
  • Traffic Planning and Modeling: Support the development and maintenance of traffic models and simulation tools to evaluate the performance and impact of proposed transportation projects. Contribute to traffic impact assessments and feasibility studies for infrastructure developments.
  • Transport Demand Management: Contribute to the development and implementation of transport demand management strategies aimed at reducing congestion, improving mobility, and promoting sustainable transportation options. Assist in identifying and assessing the effectiveness of various demand management measures.
  • Sustainable Transportation Solutions: Contribute to the design and evaluation of sustainable transportation solutions, including public transit systems, active transportation infrastructure, and intelligent transportation systems. Assist in the assessment of environmental and social impacts of proposed solutions.
  • Policy and Planning Support: Assist in the review and analysis of transportation policies, plans, and guidelines. Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and recommendations to support informed decision-making by clients and stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and consultants, to gather input, address concerns, and ensure project alignment with local needs and aspirations. Participate in public consultations and workshops as required.
  • Project Coordination: Assist in the coordination and management of transport planning and mobility projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest developments and best practices in transport planning, mobility, and sustainable transportation. Actively participate in professional development activities, including training programs, conferences, and workshops.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field. A master's degree in a relevant discipline would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of transportation planning principles, traffic engineering concepts, and sustainable mobility strategies. Familiarity with transportation modeling software and GIS tools is desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using transportation planning software such as VISSIM, TransCAD, Cube, or similar tools. Strong data analysis and visualization skills using software such as Excel, Python, or R.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to effectively present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proficiency in Arabic would be an asset.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex transportation issues and propose appropriate solutions. Ability to think critically, interpret data, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams, collaborating with engineers, planners, and other professionals. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and methodologies. Openness to embrace innovative approaches to transportation planning and mobility challenges.
  • Passion for Sustainable Transportation: Demonstrated interest and commitment to sustainable transportation, including active transportation modes, public transit, and emerging mobility solutions.
