RAK Academy Khuzam

RAK Academy (Khuzam) provides both primary and secondary British and IB learning pathways from Pre-K to Grade 12 for 1300 international and local students.

The Role

The secondary school is looking for a positive, driven and inspirational Head of Computer Science to join the school’s middle management team. The successful candidate will also have an opportunity to lead the department and deliver the school’s improvement priorities. Computer Science is taught from Grades 6 to 8 to all students. In Grades 9 and 10 Computer Science is offered as an IGCSE subject option. In Grades 11 and 12 Computer Science is offered as a subject option in both the A-Level and International Baccalaureate Diploma pathways.

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
• Post Graduate Certificate in Education (or equivalent)
• Have an excellent understanding of teaching and learning.
• Be highly proficient in the use of technology to support teaching and learning.
• Engage, motivate and support students.
• Be a reflective practitioner with the ability to think creatively and innovate.
• Be a positive and enthusiastic member of staff and have a growth mindset.
• Be willing to be fully involved in extra-curricular activities.
• Have excellent communications skills.

Desirable

• National Professional Qualification Middle Leadership (NPQML).
• National Professional Qualification Leading Teaching (NPQLT)
• Experience of using Google suite, e.g. Google classroom.
• Have a proven record of increasing student outcomes.
