Job description
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and strategic finance leader, reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer – MENA to support long-term financial strategy and departmental growth. They will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, ensuring efficient, accurate, and transparent accounting practices. Strong leadership capabilities are essential, along with the ability to drive financial planning, implement effective policies and procedures, and monitor departmental budgets across the organization. A key part of this role includes the ability to train, coach, develop, and mentor members of the finance team to foster a high-performing and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and produce weekly, fortnightly, and monthly reports for stakeholders and ASM Global APAC office
- Submit a monthly reporting pack for CFO and Executive team presentation
- Provide departmental and ad-hoc reports, including P&Ls, as required by GM and owners
- Own and manage the Event Calendar and event deliverables
- Oversee event estimates and settlements across the team
- Participate in Executive, management, and relevant business meetings
- Manage internal and external audits
- Support the Quality Systems Manager’s operational requirements
- Oversee payroll with the People and Culture department to ensure timely salary processing
- Manage procurement activities in coordination with the Procurement Specialist
- Establish, implement, and review annual risk management policies and procedures
- Administer the Arena’s quality assurance program
- Lead, mentor, and monitor Finance personnel and deliver departmental KPIs and objectives
- Provide continuous constructive feedback and conduct regular Finance team meetings

Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or certification in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Qualified Accountant - ACA, CIMA or equivalent
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in similar role
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in corporate reporting, FP&A or management accounting
- Strong experience in financial reporting
- Previous experience in the UAE, preferably in the event industry
- Experience of using Microsoft ERP Solutions
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Fluent in English, Arabic will be a plus
- Budget and Analytical Skills
