We are currently seeking a seasoned professional to join Finance as Senior Finance NFR Manager – Asia & Middle East (Location Dubai)

Role Purpose

The Senior Finance NFR Manager – Asia and Middle East will lead the Finance NFR Team for MENAT and support the Asia market on SOX and governance processes. The role holder will report into the Financial Controller MENAT on Entity basis and to Head of Finance NFR, Asia and Middle East on a Functional basis . Finance NFRs cover all NFRs including (but are not limited to) Financial Reporting Risk, Regulatory Reporting Risk, Model Risk, Resilience Risk, Regulatory Compliance Risk and People Risk. Key functions within the NFR team include Finance Control Office & Risk Oversight, SOX C ompliance, Finance Assurance, Targeted Transaction Testing.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The role holder is part of Finance NFR team supporting Asia and leading Finance NFR function for the Middle East.
  • Support the Head of Finance NFR Asia and Middle East (A&ME) and the specialist teams on Risk Appetite monitoring for Financial Reporting Risk and ensuring SOX procedures are in place across relevant businesses and functions.
  • Drive Finance reviews and coordination for SOX processes in A& ME.
  • Support MENAT Financial Controller, MENAT CFO in ensuring appropriate governance standards for regulatory and financial reporting are applied for MENAT as well as providing insightful Risk and Control MI to drive control environment in the MENAT region.
  • Collaborate across the A& ME for driving consistent Assurance Plans, Testing Approaches, SOX reviews and governance forum as applicable for MENAT and where possible on a combined basis for A&ME.
  • Perform Risk and Control Assessment challenge and oversight activities, including challenging Risk and Control Owners regarding risk and control management and monitoring, including inherent risk, residual risk, control effectiveness, issues, actions and events for both A& ME.
  • Track and escalate risk & control profile, including issues and actions, impacts of external environment changes, emerging risk and changes to the business strategy and conduct impact, to relevant governance forums as necessary.
  • Represent Finance NFR on various forum in support of Head of Finance NFR, A& ME.
  • Provide SME advice and guidance on controls and policies to sites and relevant businesses and functions to sites in A& ME.

Experience, Skills And Qualifications

  • Graduation degree is REQUIRED– to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit
  • Finance or Accounting qualification with relevant work experience covering risk and control in banking / financial services industry
  • Strong control mindset and good understanding of the operations and processes in Finance including Product Control is preferred
  • Good understanding and accounting knowledge in banking products and financial instruments such fixed income, derivatives, money markets
  • Knowledge on Enterprise Risk Management framework
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication (both verbal and written), collaboration and interpersonal skills are critical
  • Commitment to drive continuous improvement, self-motivated, confident, and capable of working autonomously as well as being a good team player
  • Able to meet tight deadlines being cognizant of time zone and geographic differences
