Repton Al Barsha is seeking to recruit an outstanding Head of Physical Education for a January start .

We are seeking a dynamic, full-time Head of PE to join our team for a January 2026 start. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for sports, teaching, and inspiring young people to excel.

Repton Al Barsha currently educates students from Nursery (FS1) to Year 11 and will be growing year on year through to Year 13.

Overall Responsibility

To provide professional leadership and management of the Physical Education department, ensuring the highest standards of academic teaching and learning, effective curriculum development, and strong outcomes at GCSE and A Level. The post holder will promote excellence in both academic and practical PE, ensuring resources are used efficiently and the subject is a leading area of achievement within the school

Skills, Experience & Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, development and delivery of the Physical Education curriculum, with a strong focus on GCSE and A Level success.
• Oversee assessment, reporting and progress tracking across the department, ensuring consistency with school policies and external requirements.
• Analyse and evaluate pupil attainment and progress at all key stages, implementing interventions where necessary.
• Ensure effective monitoring and moderation of academic PE, supporting pupils to achieve outstanding examination outcomes.
• Develop and review all subject documentation (syllabi, schemes of work, resources, policies, handbooks, development plans).
• Embed robust assessment practices that inform planning and drive improvement in both practical and theoretical areas.
• Lead curriculum innovation to reflect current developments in physical education and sport science.
• Oversee examination arrangements for internal and external assessments.
  
  

Successful Candidates Will

Hold Bachelors of Education or PGCE with appropriate specialism, OR

Hold Bachelors in subject relevant to teaching specialism plus PGCE

Have experience teaching in a UK setting or renowned British Curriculum / international school

Have appropriate experience which enables them to contribute to our school enrichment program
