Job Summary:

The Head of Regulatory Compliance will be responsible for ensuring the company’s full compliance with UAE Central Bank regulations and other relevant financial regulatory frameworks. The role requires extensive experience in currency exchange operations, AML/CFT compliance, risk management, and governance.


Key Responsibilities:


Regulatory Compliance & Governance

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the company’s compliance policies in line with UAE Central Bank regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to AML/CFT laws, KYC policies, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and regulatory authorities, including the UAE Central Bank and FIU.

Risk & Compliance Management

  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate risks.
  • Monitor transactions for suspicious activity and oversee reporting to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
  • Ensure timely submission of regulatory reports and updates to the relevant authorities.

AML & Financial Crime Prevention

  • Oversee the company’s AML/CFT framework and ensure compliance with FATF guidelines.
  • Develop and conduct AML/CFT training programs for employees.
  • Ensure implementation of robust customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) processes.

Policy & Process Improvement

  • Continuously update internal policies to align with regulatory changes.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to improve compliance processes and ensure seamless business operations.
  • Review and update internal compliance manuals, policies, and procedures.

Audit & Investigation

  • Lead regulatory audits, internal audits, and investigations into compliance breaches.
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with international best practices and standards.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in regulatory compliance within the currency exchange or financial services industry in the UAE.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE Central Bank regulations, AML/CFT laws, and FATF guidelines.
  • Experience in managing regulatory relationships and handling audits.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • ACAMS, ICA, or similar compliance certifications are preferred.
