JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of the health information systems pertaining to medical records including efficient and comprehensive patient care data compilation, generation of all required reports and compliance towards various quality and documentation standards, facility policies and regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generates various reports from the health information systems pertaining to security, statistical data, research and quality monitoring and compiling end-user reports based on the information required from the reporting tool.
  • Designs and incorporate new workflows into the health information systems for report generation in the future
  • Supports other departments/sections and physicians in research analysis and other projects

  • Ensures to collect all relevant data for monthly reporting and reporting any lag in data collection to Senior Officer/Manager/ Director
  • Supports other departments/sections and physicians in research analysis and other projects
  • Assists in preparing the monthly KPI reports, Health Authority of Abu Dhabi covering statistics related to all services provided by the facility
  • Prepares and completes release of information application forms after identifying the party requesting patient information and obtaining written consent
  • Receives, submits and processing all medical report requests pertaining to medical fitness, disabilities percentages, sick leave approval, social affairs, etc.
  • Contacts patients or their relatives in order to provide, obtain and clarify information pertaining to requested medical reports
  • Supervises the daily operation of the file room including maintaining of filing system and


timely delivery of medical records

  • Maintains and locates medical records that have been identified as “missing” and deal with all problems related to this
  • Assists physicians in completing their documentation deficiencies.
  • Provides guidance, regarding problems related to the completion of incomplete charts, analyzing the routine discrepancies in the system which result in the incompletion of charts and suggesting ways to solve those discrepancies
  • Provides assistance to employees, in any of their day to day activities/ queries
  • Works with the senior management while revising the policies, procedures and guidelines pertaining to the department’s activities
  • Updates the management on intradepartmental issues, problems, goals etc.
  • Demonstrates customer focus when interacting with internal or external customers
  • Maintaining positive working relationships within the department/section and between various facility departments/sections
  • Provides technical expertise in identifying potential issues pertaining to medical records


Accountabilities

  • Ensures report accuracy from a systems perspective
  • Ensures to collect all relevant data for monthly reporting and reporting any lag in data collection to Senior Officer/Manager
  • Conducts on a daily basis medical records chart analysis and completion
  • Ensures the day to day functions of the filing section and workflow take place effectively


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience :-

Required:

  • 2-4 years of experience in Health Information Management


Desired:

  • Experience in a large healthcare facility


Educational Qualification: Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or Diploma with 3 years additional experience


Desired:

  • Master’s Degree in Health Information Management
