2.1 Assist in the delivery of patient care as directed by the registered nurse. Contribute to the general environment of the hospital and the well-being of the patient, families, and team members as a member of the nursing team.
3.1 Assist nurses with non-medical patient related care as directed by and under supervision of the nurse on duty.
3.2 Respond quickly to patient’s or his family’s request for assistance; keeping in mind that patient safety and
satisfaction comes first.
3.3 Attend the call bell in the department or to any other alarm in patient’s room and report to the nurse
accordingly.
3.4 Conduct patient rounding following up on patient comfort and well as any assistance needed.
3.5 Will receive non-clinical responsibilities each shift from the nurse.
3.6 Assist the nurse with patient’s activities of daily living such as hygiene, elimination, and mobility, physical
comfort, eating and drinking needs while observing and reporting any specific changes to the licensed nurse.
3.7 Clean the trolleys used before and after patient’s care and replace all consumables used.
3.8 Assist the nurses obtain patient’s height and weight measurement.
3.9 Know hospital’s approved disinfectants and their indications for usage in their department.
3.10 Comply with patient’s confidentiality as per hospital’s policy.
3.11 Escort stable patients by wheelchairs or assist nurses with bed transport to and from Radiology Department as
well as from and to other departments and assist nurse to transport patients to the operation theatre.
3.12 Safely accompany and assist discharged patients to the exit point
3.13 Participates as a valued team member in any scheduled educational activities, promoting and contributing to a
supportive team environment.
3.14 Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital
management to comply those requirements.
3.15 Work in accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities.
3.16 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
3.17 Be familiar with patient safety goals that are applicable to their daily activities.
3.18 Notifying nurses of OSH hazards, incidents, near misses or any concerns.
3.19 Comply with waste management transmission-based precautions policies and procedures.
3.20 Work together with the nurses for the completion of departmental inventories.
3.21 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs
3.22 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
3.23 Other duties as assigned by the Nurse In-charge or Nurse Team Leader on duty.
4.1 Two years of college or equivalent; certificate in caregiver course is advantageous.
4.2 Average command of oral and written English; Spoken Arabic advantageous.
4.3 Demonstrate motivation to work in a health care environment.
4.4 Amenable in working shifting hours.
