Job Description

As a Highway Design Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the development of highway and road infrastructure projects. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, conducting feasibility studies, preparing design specifications, and ensuring the compliance of projects with relevant standards and regulations. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills, a deep understanding of civil engineering principles, and the ability to deliver high-quality highway design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess viability and requirements of highway projects.
  • Utilize design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) to create detailed highway and road layouts.
  • Ensure geometric designs align with safety standards and regulations.
  • Design horizontal and vertical alignments considering topography and project specifications.
  • Develop profiles and cross-sections to meet design requirements.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Stay updated on design innovations and industry best practices.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings and documentation for construction.
  • Create design reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Implement corrective actions based on project feedback and lessons learned.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including surveyors, architects, and other engineers.
  • Participate in project meetings, contributing technical expertise.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; minimum 5 years of experience .
  • Proven experience in highway design and traffic engineering.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
