Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager with a strong background in the construction industry to lead and manage the company’s human resources functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with business goals, managing talent acquisition, ensuring compliance with UAE labor laws, and fostering a productive and positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the company’s goals and the unique demands of the construction industry.
- Provide strategic HR advice and support to senior management and project teams.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:
- Lead the recruitment process for skilled and unskilled labor, project managers, engineers, and other roles specific to the construction sector.
- Forecast manpower needs for ongoing and upcoming projects, ensuring timely hiring and optimal workforce allocation.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of talent for critical roles.
Employee Relations & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws, including visa processing, contracts, and employee documentation.
- Handle employee grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary matters in a fair and consistent manner.
- Maintain strong relationships with labor camps, ensuring proper facilities and well-being of workers.
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs for staff and organize skill development programs tailored to the construction industry.
- Conduct onboarding sessions to familiarize new employees with company policies and safety standards.
Performance Management:
- Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to evaluate and improve employee productivity.
- Work with department heads to set clear KPIs for project and non-project staff.
Compensation and Benefits Management:
- Oversee payroll processing, WPS compliance, and employee benefits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Benchmark industry standards to design competitive salary and benefits packages.
Health, Safety, and Welfare:
- Collaborate with the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) department to ensure a safe working environment across all sites.
- Promote health and wellness initiatives for site and office-based employees.
HR Operations and Reporting:
- Manage day-to-day HR operations, including leave management, attendance tracking, and maintaining HR databases.
- Generate regular HR reports for management on headcount, attrition, recruitment, and training.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIPD, SHRM, or CHRP are preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 8–10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in the construction industry in the UAE or GCC.
- Strong knowledge of UAE labor laws, construction workforce management, and blue-collar employee relations.
Skills:
- Proven ability to manage large, diverse workforces, including site-based and office-based employees.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in HR software, Microsoft Office Suite, and payroll systems.
