We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified HSEW Inspector to join our team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Health, Safety, Environment, and Welfare (HSEW) within the Metro or Railway projects. The HSEW Inspector will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of safety and environmental compliance on site, identifying and mitigating potential hazards, and contributing to the successful delivery of the project while safeguarding the health and well-being of all personnel.

We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified HSEW Inspector to join our team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Health, Safety, Environment, and Welfare (HSEW) within the Metro or Railway projects. The HSEW Inspector will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of safety and environmental compliance on site, identifying and mitigating potential hazards, and contributing to the successful delivery of the project while safeguarding the health and well-being of all personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and welfare standards.
- Monitor construction activities, ensuring adherence to HSEW procedures and legal requirements.
- Identify potential hazards and assess risks associated with activities on the metro/infrastructure project sites.
- Advise on corrective actions and provide recommendations to mitigate safety and environmental risks.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and site risk assessments to ensure continuous improvement in HSEW practices.
- Ensure proper implementation and enforcement of all HSEW policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with UAE regulations.
- Collaborate with site management and workers to foster a culture of safety and awareness on-site.
- Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near-miss occurrences, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are taken.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive reports on safety performance, incident investigations, and audits for senior management.
- Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety measures by workers.
- Provide HSEW training and awareness programs to all employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Ensure emergency procedures are in place and conduct drills as required.
- Keep up to date with local and international safety and environmental regulations and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as an HSEW Inspector or in a similar HSE role, with at least 5 years in the metro/infrastructure sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UAE health, safety, environmental laws, and metro industry standards.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Valid HSE certifications such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or other relevant safety certifications.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, risk assessments, and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, workers, and external parties.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE reporting software.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Arabic language skills are a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Previous experience working on Metro or Railway in the UAE.
- Knowledge of HSEW challenges specific to metro construction and related environments.
- Familiarity with environmental sustainability practices and regulations.
