Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee and manage all HR-related functions for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR practices, labor law compliance, and employee management, with a proven track record in the construction industry. This role is essential for ensuring effective workforce management and maintaining a positive work environment within construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract skilled workers, engineers, and project management staff for construction projects.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
HR Planning and Workforce Management:
- Collaborate with project managers to understand manpower requirements and develop workforce plans aligned with project timelines.
- Ensure sufficient staffing levels across all construction sites to meet project demands.
Performance Management:
- Implement performance appraisal systems to monitor and improve employee productivity and performance.
- Provide guidance to project supervisors on addressing performance issues and employee grievances.
Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Foster a positive work environment and resolve workplace conflicts promptly.
- Plan and execute employee engagement activities to improve morale and retention.
Compliance and Legal Matters:
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations, including visa processing, employment contracts, and safety protocols.
- Manage disciplinary procedures and handle employee grievances in line with company policies.
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and coordinate relevant programs to upskill employees and enhance job performance.
- Conduct safety training sessions to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on construction sites.
Compensation and Benefits Management:
- Oversee payroll processes and manage employee benefits to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Conduct salary benchmarking to remain competitive in the construction market.
Health, Safety, and Welfare:
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and implement initiatives to promote employee well-being.
- Act as the primary point of contact for managing incidents and emergencies on-site.
HR Policy Development:
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures tailored to the construction industry.
- Communicate and enforce policies effectively across all levels of staff.
Reporting and Analytics:
- Generate HR-related reports, including workforce statistics, turnover rates, and recruitment metrics.
- Provide insights to senior management to guide decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of HR management experience, with at least 3 years in the construction industry.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of UAE labor laws, construction workforce management, and HR best practices.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with construction management tools is a plus.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
